Zyxel is a manufacturer of firewalls, switches, routers, and other devices that are used in wireless networking. Specifically, Zyxel routers can be found in both residential and commercial environments, causing it to be the most popular device that Zyxel sells. Zyxel routers are often equipped with dual antennas, WPA encryption, and up to four Ethernet ports.

Zyxel Default Password

Like other routers, Zyxel devices include a control panel that allows users to change device settings, setup wireless security, and configure the router to work with other devices. The Zyxel control panel can be accessed by connecting the router to any computer via an Ethernet cable and entering 192.168.10.2 into any browser. The user can then enter the default username and password printed on the bottom of the Zyxel router. If the default username and password are not printed on the bottom of the Zyxel router, the user can enter “admin” for the username and “1234” for the password.

How to Change a Zyxel Password

If the user wishes to change his/her password in order to prevent others from accessing the Zyxel router by entering the default password, he/she can do so by signing into the Zyxel router and opening the Configuration menu. From there, the user can change his/her password by entering the old one and creating a new one. If the user cannot find the Configuration menu, he/she can run the Setup Wizard, which includes the same option.

How to Reset a Zyxel Password

If the user has forgotten his/her password, he/she can reset the Zyxel router by pushing any small, pointed object into the Reset button found on the bottom of the device. This will erase all data on the Zyxel router and allow the user to access the router’s control panel by entering the default username and password.
