A magnetic air car is a concept car that Magnetic Air Cars, Inc. designed and developed. The company is based in San Jose and currently holds the patent to the technology, albeit that it is understood that J.M. Custer from Piggott, Arkansas originally created the magnetic air car in 1932. The car ran on compressed air that an oscillating magnet generated. Although the car worked and did not run on fuel, the idea did not become popular due to cheap gasoline and the emergence of the much faster automobile. While the magnetic air car is not yet on the market, a French company known as MDI Cars showed a working model to a BBC reporter in 2002.

How does a Magnetic Air Car Work?

Custer created a working model of the magnetic air car in 1932 and drove it across 500 miles at 35 MPH without burning any type of fuel or accruing any maintenance fees. Roy J. Meyers designed the engine, which consisted of four large tanks that house compressed air. It is also known that the engine did not require any kind of cooling system, ignition system, or carburetor, and therefore did not require the hundreds of moving parts found in a standard gasoline motor.

Magnetic Air CarAdvantages

The list of advantages of the magnetic air car is long and outstanding. The magnetic air car, though still a concept car, does not require any type of fuel except for the compressed air it generates and it does not produce any pollution or exhaust emissions. The magnetic air car holds a $70 battery that is free of any acids, lasts significantly longer than standard car batteries, and can even be recycled.

Disadvantages

Unfortunately, because the magnetic air car is only a concept car, little is known about how it works, when it will be available, and what kind of performance users can expect. For example, the cost of the car itself is undetermined and Magnetic Air Cars, Inc. has not disclosed it. Also, no credible source has yet tested the magnetic air car and the company has not provided any experimental results. Additionally, the magnetic motor has remained a secret to the vast majority of those interested in the magnetic air car.

Miscellaneous

Magnetic Air Cars, Inc. has the most advanced design for magnetic air cars in the world and is close to producing a market-ready model. The engine increases the air temperature by about five degrees due to the electrical heat it gives off. According to the Magnetic Air Cars, Inc. website, the company has a design for a filtration system that cleans the air as it is compressed, resulting in cleaner exhaust than intake. This process will be included in the finished product to improve air quality and reduce the effects of global warming.
